Best States for OnlyFans Creators: Prices and Taxes
Texas and Florida pair top subscription prices with no state income tax. What creators charge in 15 states, measured across 21,003 profiles.
Short answer: Texas and Florida are the strongest combination in our data. Both sit near the top of what creators charge, and neither levies a state income tax. Across 21,003 OnlyFans creators who list a location in one of the 15 states we measured, the average paid subscription runs from $14.44 in Georgia down to $12.07 in Oregon. On 100 subscribers held for a year, that spread is worth $2,275.20 after the platform takes its cut, before a single dollar of tax is calculated.
The more useful finding is what the numbers do not show. Creators in the five no-income-tax states in this table average $13.49 a month. Creators in the ten states that do tax income average $13.15. That is a gap of 34 cents. Where you live barely moves what you can charge, but it moves a great deal of what you keep.
What OnlyFans creators charge by state
Every figure below comes from public profile data on 192,986 OnlyFans creators, counted on 29 August 2026. The "after platform cut" column is the state average multiplied by 100 subscribers for 12 months, less the 20% OnlyFans takes from every subscription. Top marginal state income tax rates are the published 2026 rates.

Ohio is the quiet performer: the third highest average price in the table paired with a 2.75% top rate. Oregon is the worst pairing available, with the lowest average price of the fifteen and a 9.90% top rate on top of it.
Which state is best for OnlyFans creators?
On the two variables you can actually measure, Texas and Florida win. Texas creators average $14.29 a month, second highest of the fifteen, and Texas has no state income tax. Florida averages $13.95 with no state income tax and the second largest creator population in the table at 3,349. Nevada is the same shape at a smaller scale. If you are already in one of the nine no-tax states, there is no pricing reason to leave.
California is the instructive case. It has the largest measured creator population at 4,354, and it is the deepest market for collaborations, photographers and studio access. But its average subscription is $13.26, below Texas and Florida, and its brackets top out at 13.30%. A creator gets no pricing premium in exchange for the highest income tax rate in the country.
Do OnlyFans creators pay state income tax?
Yes, in the 41 states that levy one. OnlyFans income is self-employment income, reported on Schedule C, and it flows into your state return the same way any other business profit does. Nine states do not tax wage and business income at all: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming. That list has held steady for several years, and New Hampshire finished phasing out its interest and dividends tax at the start of 2025.
State tax sits on top of federal obligations that do not change with your address. Self-employment tax is 15.3%, and federal income tax applies wherever you live. Most creator accountants suggest reserving 25% to 30% of net profit, and closer to 30% to 35% in a high-rate state. Our walkthrough of how to file OnlyFans taxes covers the forms in order.
Can you form an LLC in a no-tax state to avoid state income tax?
No, and this is the most expensive misunderstanding in creator tax advice. Self-employment income is sourced to the state where you live and perform the work, not to the state where an entity is registered and not to wherever the platform is headquartered. Registering a Wyoming LLC while living in California leaves you filing and paying in California, now with an out-of-state registration to maintain as well.
An LLC is still worth considering for liability separation and, at higher income, for an S-corp election. It is simply not a state tax strategy. We go through the actual reasons in do you need an LLC for OnlyFans.
Does it matter what state you live in for OnlyFans?
For pricing, barely. The 34 cent gap between no-tax and taxed states in our data is noise next to niche, which moves the average far more. Asian creators average $14.13 a month and BBW creators $11.14, a $2.99 spread inside a single platform, and you can see the whole distribution in our breakdown of OnlyFans subscription prices by niche.
For what you keep, it matters a lot. A creator with $80,000 of taxable income sits in California's 9.30% bracket at the margin, and the 8.00% bracket starts at $57,542. The same income in Texas attracts no state tax at all. That difference compounds every year you stay, and unlike your subscription price it requires no work to capture.
Which state has the most OnlyFans creators?
California, with 4,354 creators listing a California location, ahead of Florida at 3,349 and Texas at 3,147. Density matters if you shoot collaborations, since a partner has to be within driving distance, and it is why the three biggest states stay the three biggest despite their tax differences. You can browse the full OnlyFans creators by state hub to see who is listed near you, or work down to the city level with OnlyFans prices by city, where Miami runs $15.81 and Houston $16.19 against a $12.83 index average.
Is it worth moving states for OnlyFans income?
Only if you were close to moving anyway. The tax saving is real but it is a percentage of profit, so it scales with what you already earn. At $30,000 of profit, leaving a 5% state saves roughly $1,500 a year, which a move can consume in one go. At $150,000 in California, the arithmetic looks very different.
Two practical cautions. States with income tax audit departure hard, and part-year residency rules are strict about where you actually slept and worked. And your business banking, address of record and payment routing all have to follow you cleanly, which is worth reading up on in our notes on the best bank for OnlyFans creators.
What actually moves the number more than your state
Three things, in order. Your niche, which we measured at up to a $2.99 monthly spread. Your library size, since price against volume decides whether a subscription feels fair, and we broke that down in OnlyFans cost per item. And your deductions, which are the only lever here that reduces tax in every state at once. Equipment, a home studio percentage, travel to shoots and platform fees are all ordinary business expenses, and creators who keep receipts in a system that categorizes expenses as they come in rather than reconstructing a year in April tend to claim materially more of them.
How we measured this
Creator counts come from matching self-reported location text on public OnlyFans profiles in our index of 192,986 creators. Average paid subscription is the mean price across profiles in that state that publish a price above zero, which is 15,476 of the 21,003 creators in the table. Free profiles are excluded from the averages and are rare everywhere, at 252 across all fifteen states, or 1.20%.
Two limits worth stating plainly. Location is self-reported and is not a residency check, so a creator who lists Miami may be a visitor, may be marketing to a city, or may have moved without updating a profile; we looked at that gap in whether OnlyFans creators list their real location. And listed price is not revenue, because tips, pay-per-view messages and bundle discounts all sit outside it, and for most established creators those add up to more than the subscription does.
Nothing here is tax advice. Rates are the published 2026 figures and your bracket depends on your own profit, filing status and deductions, so run your situation past a preparer who has handled creator returns before.
